I'm sure that this has been discussed before, but a search didn't turn it up.
It's time for me to renew, and I'm not pleased with my current provider. Any recommendations?
I need a small policy for I only teach part-time to small classes...yoga and dance
thanks in advance....

Re: Insurance?
Wed, April 29, 2009 - 12:01 PMCan you get it through a yoga teachers association? Or is there such a thing? -

Re: Insurance?
Wed, April 29, 2009 - 12:54 PMYes, if you pay for membership in the association, which you also have to renew every year. That's what I did last year, but I'm hoping to escape that racket this year.

Re: Insurance?
Wed, April 29, 2009 - 6:38 PMHey Ali,
I have my insurance from fitnessandwellness.com. My policy is $145/yr and I think it's about as basic as it gets. Lots of instructors I know use it and it was recommended by my YTT program. However, I have a hunch about the association you mentioned, and if it's the same one (don't get me started), my recommendation may not be any help! Fitness and Wellness also offers a different insurance package that includes a Yoga Journal subscription and other "bonuses" (which, personally, I think is also a racket! -- the package I mean).
Drop me a note if you want more details.
Om Shanti!

Re: Insurance?
Wed, April 29, 2009 - 12:09 PMK&K Insurance offers dance teacher insurance. They even give you a break if you have a certification. Doesn't hurt to check them out. -

Re: Insurance?
Thu, April 30, 2009 - 2:18 PMAlso use K&K and it is very reasonable -

Re: Insurance?
Thu, April 30, 2009 - 9:33 PMI decided to go with K&K mostly because they don't require a redundant affiliation with a professional association. Their website was easy to figure out, and I was able to print out my proof of insurance immediately. I'm pleased.
thanks for the advice, ladies!
love to all,
