Re: need a tribal instructor in kansas
Wed, February 25, 2009 - 11:25 AMHave you checked your local Craigs list? Community bulletin boards? Or just google searched for it? Those can be good resources to find one.
I'd love to help more but I'm in Southern IL :( Hopefully, you will find someone!

Re: need a tribal instructor in kansas
Wed, February 25, 2009 - 3:39 PMHave you joined the midwest bellydance, great plains bellydance, or midwest sisters of bellydance tribes? There might be more info there. I know of a fantastic group in Lincoln NE that does ITS but that is also a bit far for you - Benu is here on tribe as is their major annual event Tribal Dreams (every November - maybe you can come for that?)

Re: need a tribal instructor in kansas
Thu, February 26, 2009 - 5:38 AMShira.net has an extensive instructor directory. Not all teachers are on there, but it's probably the most complete online resource to find a teacher. It's organized by region and state. www.shira.net

Re: need a tribal instructor in kansas
Wed, March 4, 2009 - 7:15 AMThanks for the shoutout Judie!
Yes, Naxi and I teach tribal here in Wichita. We teach Improv Tribal Style. We don't mimic one vocabulary of Improv (like FCBD, GC, BSBD) but we incorporate all of them and throw in some N.O.madic and Infusion and whoever else we study from. So thats why we don't call it ATS..to be politically correct. We also tend to throw in some East Indian, bhangra and in the future more african moves.
We would love to have you! Come check out our Basic Tribal Vocabulary class on Wednesdays from 7:45pm - 9pm at Amira's Dance Studio.
