Can anyone recommend a CD that has multiple tracks using the chiftitelli rhythm (or an entire CD with this rhythm)? Slow songs would be nice. Thanks to any tips!

Re: Chiftitelly Recommndations?
Thu, April 9, 2009 - 6:52 AMhi Sacha! This won't help you now but I'm doing several chifti-telli's on my next cd :-) in fact I'm changing one to rhumba as I thought there was too many LOL.
But my next youtube clip on finger cymbals, coming soon inshallah, will be using a slow chifti-telli -
I like American ones like Desert Wind (even Alan Bachman); and also Dolphina's Goddess Workout (John Bilezikjian playing oud) has a nice chifti. If you like more traditional sounding music, Turkish oriental dance cds usually include them as a staple. -

Re: Chiftitelly Recommndations?
Thu, April 9, 2009 - 4:31 PMMary Ellen Donald has some practice CDs with lots of rhythms, including chiftitelli.
www.maryellendonald.com/CDsDes...ice.htm
Jazayer does, also.
www.vincedelgado.com/eternalcd.html
These are more for practicing percussion or drills to, not sure if that is what you are looking for. If so, they are great! Both artists also use chifititelli in many of their other CDs that are more for listening or dancing to.

Re: Chiftitelly Recommndations?
Fri, April 10, 2009 - 12:34 AMIf you are just looking to practice at home or somewhere that provides you with internet access (and you have a laptop to take with you) you could just go to youtube and search Chiftetelli. There are a bunch of different options when you do it that way. They are free and you can hear a diversity of interpretations too.

Re: Chiftitelly Recommndations?
Wed, April 15, 2009 - 11:10 AMWhat I am after are songs that clearly demonstrate the chiftitelli rhythm. I am going to teach this rhythm to my students in a veil class and I really want the rhythm to stand out clearly and not to change to other rhythms. I was hoping for a full CD some where out there so that I could vary the songs, but not the rhythm... Anyway, does anyone know who sings a song called "Jamileh" I heard it somewhere and I swear it had a nice, slow chiftitelli. I know there are probably a million songs named "Jamileh" (which is why I didn't mention it earlier). Thanks again to every one who has contributed to my search!

Re: Chiftitelly Recommndations?
Wed, April 15, 2009 - 12:29 PMThe best I could do was find someone selling a cassette tape of this. Any suggestions about where to find it? -

Re: Chiftitelly Recommndations?
Wed, April 15, 2009 - 10:56 PMI do have the CD so it comes in that form. Eva just had it so I bought from her about 5 or so years ago...may be longer not sure.
But I did look up the name and found:
www.buyarabic.com/storeitems.asp (this is version one not two)
Or I did find the 2nd one (the one I have here):
www.multiarsiv.com/ff21eb78.html (not sure how easy it will be to order)
